Screening and progress monitoring assessments depend on alternate forms to be of equivalent difficulty to accurately reflect student growth. The purpose of this website is to provide alternate forms of silent reading fluency and vocabulary forms that are scaled and equivalent so they can be used as part of a response to intervention (RTI) system.

The CBM Reading assessment system is designed so that your group of students will take each of the four measures in one sitting, once a week, for up to 20 consecutive weeks. Results are not intended to have high-stakes implications on student instruction and education, but may be used in conjunction with other reading assessments to monitor students' short-term progress in silent reading and context-based vocabulary proficiency.
